Vanessa Joosen

Vanessa Joosen is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Tilburg and a visiting professor of children's literature at the University of Antwerp. She is the author of a.o. Critical and Creative Perspectives on Fairy Tales (Wayne State UP, 2011) and Wit als sneeuw, zwart als inkt: De sprookjes van Grimm in de Nederlandstalige literatuur (2012, White as snow, black as ink: Grimm's fairy tales in Dutch literature). She has published in journals such as Arcadia, Children's Literature in Education, International Research in Children's Literature, Signal and Marvels and Tales. Her current, NWO-funded research project focuses on the construction of adulthood in children's books.
